A visit from Auntie Bethany and Uncle Brandon

Bethany and Brandon were able to come out to visit us just as Graham was turning 1 month old. We had such a great time! Bethany and Brandon were nice enough to help keep our dog entertained. Brannock was spoiled with new toys and was taken on several walks and runs! He was in heaven. They were also on babysitting duty while Alex and I took some time for ourselves. We were able to go out to dinner without the munchkin and ended the evening with some Coldstone Creamery-Yum!

We can't wait to see them again in person this October when we head to Chicago to cheer on Auntie Bethany at the marathon.

Getting so big!

So Graham is now 6 weeks old and definitely keeping us busy! We think he is going through a growth spurt right now because he is eating constantly! Luckily, it is during the day. Nights aren't so bad. He usually has a late night feeding (10 or 11 pm), a middle of the night feeding (2 or 3 am), and then an early morning feeding (5 or 6 am). Then he is eating every 2 hours or less the rest of the day! It will be fun to see how much bigger he is at his 2 month appointment.

Today he and I (Lorri) ventured to the mall. An interesting trip... good for dad, but bad for mom. I say that because as soon as the stroller wheels hit the mall tiles he started waking up from his car-induced snooze and proceeded to fuss and then full fledged cry. Needless to say we got out of there really quickly-the "good for dad" part. Luckily, I did have enough time to get my errand done (someone left an ink tag on one of his outfits) and buy his coming-soon-cousin, Penelope, some new fall onesies.

Take a look below at some new pictures. And view the video to see him smile! I finally decided that he is smiling and it is not just gas so I tried to grab video documentation. It usually comes with a lot of baby talk from mom or dad, but nonetheless it is so cute!

Our Chunky Monkey!

He looks so sweet and tiny below in his swing.
Can't wait to do a comparison in a few weeks.

One of his favorite spots: Dad's shoulder
Dad can always get him to fall asleep here.

We are encouraging tummy time.
Even though he doesn't love it,

his head control is definitely improving.

He is looking quite dapper here.
We went to get his passport this day!

It is not the biggest smile that he's had, but I think you can see it.

Five Week Update

Graham is over one month old, and the time is flying by! He's been visited by a pair of Aunts, one Uncle, and three Grandparents. He also visited the doctor and got a clean bill of health... 9lbs 9.5oz which puts him in the 50th percentile but only 20.75", which is in the 25th percentile. His weight showed significant growth from his birth weight of 7lbs 5oz, however, and the doctor thought all was on track. The only hiccup? Graham is apparently not a fan of shots!

We're still feeding every 2.5 - 3.5 hours apart, and with an increasing amount of "awake" time, sleep is harder to find. But Mom's been very nice about letting Dad sleep on work days, while it's Boy's Night In on the weekends.

Below are some updated photos and a video montage of playtime! (and, no, Graham's not sending us a hidden message during Tummy Time... we think...)

Feeding and Sleeping :)

We captured some great video today. As you can imagine a newborn does a lot of eating and a lot of sleeping. However, this sleeping video is of another member of the family-not Graham. But we thought it would be much more entertaining to watch than a video of Graham sleeping. Enjoy!
