A Big Fat Positive!

On December 1st of 2010, Alex and I found out that we were expecting another cute little Clark. It's funny because over the Thanksgiving holiday many of my family members were asking when the next one was coming and we answered, "We're working on it". Little did we know that I was 4 weeks pregnant at the time. Perhaps I shouldn't have had that glass of wine with turkey dinner!

Yes, yes we know... the kids will be awfully close in age. Fourteen months to be exact-baby #2's due date is July 31st. When we went in for our first doctor's appointment the OB/GYN nurse said to me as I stepped on the scale, "Was this a surprise?" I'm pretty sure I gave her the stink eye and stated loudly that "No, we were trying". Luckily, my doctor was much more enthusiastic about us being there (I never liked that nurse very much anyway-she's just not the warm and fuzzy type) and greeted us with a big congratulations. He confirmed that Graham was indeed going to be a big brother!

So far everything has gone very smoothly. Similar to my pregnancy with Graham, I am one of the lucky ones that did not have any morning sickness. I was, however, much more tired the first few weeks. Although, that doesn't really come as a surprise. I think I'm getting the hang of being pregnant and caring for the little munchkin too. I definitely have more energy now but perhaps that's because my husband is home.

Below you will see the start of the bump documentation. I've been feeling much more hungry with this pregnancy, as you can tell by the already expanding waistline. Luckily, we received a treadmill for Christmas. So maybe I will actually work out... maybe.

Rollin' Along

Graham has become much more active in recent weeks, and is trying to figure out how to get from Point A to Point B on his own, now. While he hasn't quite figured out crawling, he's just starting to grasp the concept that he can roll himself closer to objects in order to grab them. It's only a matter of time! (eeeeep!)

Here's a video for your viewing pleasure!

Photo Shoot: 6 Months

We're going to post Graham's 6 month glamor shots. For those of you who have not heard about this photo session... here's what happened. Graham had fallen asleep in the car so was a bit snoozy as we began the shoot. However, we got a few smiles. Then we put the hat on and he became a little apprehensive about where he was and what was going on. The photographer was able to snap a few shots but no cute little smile. Then we had a costume change and all hell broke loose! I was not able to put Graham down without him screaming his head off (as documented in the basket photo). I wanted to do some cute shots with the basket to be able to compare his newborn shots and his older shots-but this was clearly not going to happen. She snapped a few of me holding him for a total session of 16 shots that she was able to give me on disk. Yikes! Take a look at the outcome, I posted most of them. Let's hope the 9 month shoot goes a bit better! :)

Ringing in the New Year

Gosh, it has been a month since our last blog entry. Apparently, the holidays have kept us very busy! Alex has not been home for the past 3 weeks. He's been in Buffalo, New York, for the World Junior Championship. Team USA brought home the bronze medal. This is the first time in the tournament's history that Team USA has gotten back-to-back medals (they won gold last year). We'd like to think that Alex is the team's good luck charm!

Graham and I have had our fair share of traveling over the past couple of weeks. We flew to Michigan on Dec. 21st and spent a few days visiting with family. Then Grammie and Grandpa picked us up and we trekked it to Buffalo (via Canada). We got to spend Christmas with Daddy! Actually, we all went up to Rochester, NY, to have Christmas dinner with Alex's Uncle John and Aunt Darlyss. It was the first time they got to meet our lil' man.

A few days later Grammie, Grandpa, Graham, and I had another long drive to Vermont. We spent several days there relaxing and visiting with Great Grammie and Great Grampie who drove up from Massachusetts. On New Year's Eve we headed back to Buffalo to ring in the New Year with Daddy.

During the trip Graham really showed off his rolling skills. He is much more adept at rolling back and forth. He has learned to tighten his core when rolling from tummy to back so he doesn't clunk his noggin on the ground. He is also starting to get his feet and legs up underneath of him, so I'm sure crawling is just around the corner. Oh boy!

Graham is now 7 months old. He's growing so quickly! We had to move his swing to the basement for storage because he was getting too big and too mobile. When we put him in the swing while he's awake he tries to sit up and we knew it was just a matter of time before he fell out!
